We've discussed this before, over and over again.FrankJones wrote: ↑13 January 2026, 10:32Why not just make your moves within the allotted time?Tyler1986 wrote: ↑13 January 2026, 10:08Thanks, but I'm able to learn without having any negative consequences.
Personally, I think there's a big difference between someone who just doesn't play anymore with no sign of coming back any time soon and a premium player who is playing every day with a perfect reputation being offline for a few hours (anyone who checks my profile can figure that out easily). Therefore, the consequences for running out of time should also be different.
If your opponent is low on time and makes a hasty and possibly bad move because of not wanting to go over the time limit, how is it fair for you to them go a few hours over the time limit and not expect to get kicked from the game?
Even on fast turn-based settings, we start with plenty of clock. I don't really understand why some players allow the clock to get so low that this even becomes a problem in the first place.
Do you play multiplayer turn-based games ?
Do you have a real life (eating/sleeping/working/...) where you aren't able to check BGA for several hours at a stretch ?
If you do you will have recognized that there are sometimes bad constellations where are the other players can play within a few hours but it becomes your turn systematically just after you left BGA. This is difficult to predict as you usually don't know where the other players live and when they will generally play (i had once a player in my time-zone who made his moves around 3 in the morning).
In this situation you won't be able to make more than one move/day and therefor run out of time in a few days (unless you're in a "slow" game).
So you will say : You should stick to slow games if you aren't able to meet the contract you subscribed to (= willing to get up and check BGA at three in the morning
Why isn't this a good decision ?
Because :
- Premium-Players searching for others to play would have to wait longer until their table completes
- Players searching to join would have to wait longer until they find a "slow" table
- BGA would have less tables played/time unit; some players might stop financing the site because it takes an eternity to complete a table for their favorite game
