Players that tell me to hurry up when I am playing my turn in a few seconds. Most players I don't think realize when playing someone on the other side of the earth it sometimes takes a few seconds for turn to happen. I know to wait at least 10 seconds for game start if playing euros. Most of all. Quitting. You quit a game. Against me without explanation. Red thumb immediately. And finally. Those Players that can win over a few turns. But dont. Because they wish to try and have a record score or perfect game. That is a sure way to get red thumbed.
All in all, I can't understand the idea of blocking someone just because you don't enjoy the experience of playing against them. In my view, the only "valid" reasons to block someone would be if you consider that they did something immoral. Ignoring someone just because your styles of play are not "compatible" seems like a dehumanizing way to treat someone.
I don't see how anyone is harmed. It's better for both people. I am starting to see now that some people are under the impression that there is some sort of stigma attached to a red thumb. To me it is simply of way to find compatible partners.

I think BGA should rethink red thumb system in general.
Not good that mutch more easy to give red thumb than remove it.

I can see how it wouldn't be that bad if that's how you look at it. But the red thumb option does more than that, it makes chat impossible between the two users, and it makes it impossible to spectate their games (among other things I may be forgetting). So it seems more like a social blocking thing than just a game compatibility thing.

I always pick the fastest speed. They are free to join fast paced games and play slow, but I want to avoid that.
I'm confused. You pick the fastest speed but then give red thumbs to slow players? If you're playing "fast turn based 24 moves per day", what constitutes "playing too slowly"?
If someone used up all of the allotted time then that is too slow by definition.
Agreed.

In which case, it is irrelevant to say, "I choose fast turn based and red thumb people who play too slowly". The statement would suffice without the bold italicized part.

I got the impression that by adding that part, the person writing it gives red thumbs to "slow" players even if that player does not run over the allotted time.

Which was certainly the impression I had when I said he should preëmptively RT me—that he wanted to treat fast TB as a slow RT and have the other player at his beck and call. I do make it a point to not go over the clock, but if I have a half hour in the clock sometimes I’m gonna take that half hour to do something else. That’s why I’d be playing TB.

Agreed.

I do like when players in fast-turn based are online at the same time as I am and play is near-real time, but I don't expect or require it of them. :)
