Yes there is. You can see it on a game's main page by going to the area that says "Ranking," then toggling "Current Season" (which is Arena rank) to "All-Time" (which is Elo rank).

There are even achievement medals viewable in someone's profile and XP rewards (for those who care about that) for reaching the top 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20 Elo in a game. You will disappear from that ranking if you haven't played for a while, though.

See above.

This is a good thought, but It's really not similar, because high rated players can be in any tier, either through relegation at the beginning of a season, or they sat out a season or two, or because they have just started playing Arena and they are bronze or working their way up from bronze. Of course, there is some correlation between the Arena tier and the strength of the player, but it's not a strong as people think. And it's likely not as strong as it needs to be to get what the OP wants, which is some vaguely defined mix of mostly equal strength players and an occasional strong player.

If OP wants to granularly define the strength of their opponents, they need to do that outside of Arena.
In the beginning of a new season this is probably the case, but after a few weeks the high elo arena competing players will have reached the highest rank, and the filter can be very effective.
The problem becomes longer wait time, and once the player reaches the highest rank ( which is bound to happen when playing enough) you still end up playing the high rank players.

But the only way to improve is to play vs these players and I think Lost Ruins of Arnak is a good game in which you can learn from opponents.
See which cards they prioritize, what their starting moves are when first or second player. You can also ask them for pointers on your game, many are helpfull in giving tips ( after the game)

I still consider that overall, the different ELO in most of my last 15 games was way too much of a gap, was not a fair match. 75% of my opponents had ELO over 400, while mine was 100+.
Add to this a little bit of luck to a skilled opponents (luck in the sense that they got very good cards at the right moment) it can be a disastrous game.
I don't say that you lose because you had bad luck with the cards în display, but sometimes it is quite aqward.
Anyways, out of my last 15 games I think I won only 2. Gotta check it better, but I really doubt that it was more than 2.
Gotta hate this game at some point! 😡

I'm assuming you keep insisting on playing in Arena even though there is an option to filter out people 300+ Elo points higher than you outside of Arena.
If you keep doing this by choice, then I can't understand why coming here to complain that you hate the game because of the Elo gap makes any sense. No one is forcing you to play Arena.
