Yeah, again, this is not the first time there's been an issue affecting some players (or being abused by some players), a fix is put in place (generally removing the abused feature) regardless of whether that fix actually helps, or causes more problems than it solves. BGA removed a feature I was using regularly, initially because it was causing problems for some people. There was a simply fix for that that would have prevented the problems, but allowed people to continue using the feature. Then they said some people were apparently abusing it, so it was best that it was gone anyway, and when I pointed out that they could easily still do the same behaviour without using that feature, radio silence.

How did you used to be able to do this?!
We used the Queries tool in excel to extract the data. We could do a large amount of tournaments at the same time this way. Now we need to go to each page and just use AI copilot to tabulate the data from each page.

I now feel even more confused than I was before. Explain how it was done past and present like I'm an alien who has never extracted/tabulated data from BGA or any other website.

Before: 1. Click "Data" tab in excel
2. Click "from Web"
3. Enter tournament page from BGA
4. Select which data you would like to import
5. Import to a table in a new tab
6. Make a master tab that links to the imported data from the other tabs.
7. Click refresh all to update results regularly

Now: Replace steps 1-5 and you can no longer do step 7
1. Go to the tournament page with a Chrome browser.
2. Turn on copilot and Ask copilot to extract tournament data to an excel file and tell it which columns you would like to include.
3. Copy the data and paste into an excel tab.

Is it correct that it's still not possible to invite someone with <100 ELO if the settings for a tournament are average - expert? I heard that from the creator of this tournament: https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=530907

Yeah, invites have to match whatever settings you have on the tournament (ie. player strength).

First of all, I like that there is a new design but it doesn't feel like an improvement yet for organising and overview. Too much scrolling and clicking.

Bug:
The results page of a finished tournament shows a different order (sorting) players than the overview list of players.

Also why are there only 2 players visible in the results screen, I would assume top 3. And there is so much unnecessary whitespace.

That's unfortunate... In the past we could invite players who had experience with the game in real life (but lower ELO on BGA) and friends of the tournament creator could also be invited regardsless of their ELO-rating. I would plead for no restrictions for invites.

I still hope that BGA folks make up their minds and allow "wildcard invites" again. Not sure if they will do. In the meantime, there is a workaround: You have to create and publish your tournament as a private one first, there you can copy and save an invite link. Now before anyone joined the tournament, you can change it to a public tournament where your Elo requirements will be applied but not for the people you send the invite link to (but they have to join via the invite link).

Has anyone else been able to set up a new tournament today? I'm constantly getting an Http Error: 413 today. I'm trying to set up a tournament for the game Popcorn for a private group but it failed at least 7 times so far...
