I mean, you could read the rest of the thread where people explain why they like 3 player games and how the guru system works if you want to find out.

Or check the BGG best at player counts and see 3 players beating 2 player recommendations by 2:1.

Which is a poll of casuals for casuals, not ranked competitive play.

I hate to break it to you, but BGA arena is casual play too.

3 players is great except for how rampant it is that people quit on the last turn before they lose, forcing the other two players into a "tie" and stealing any earned win from players.

There are obvious and actual hierarchies here like:

- people who play Wingspan tabletop every now and then
- people who play Wingspan tabletop regularly
- people who participate on Wingspan BGG
- people who play Wingspan on BGA
- people who play Wingspan on BGA Arena

The group of people who click buttons on BGG is larger and has lower competitive standards than people who play enough on BGA to qualify for Arena, and then choose to play it in that mode. It is a different group, and they have different (which isn't to say objectively better or worse) standards, so it's not a good point of comparison. You're welcome to like or dislike 3P Arena as much as you please, but it isn't necessary or helpful to engage in bogus side quests with bogus semantic reasoning without advancing or engaging with material points.

This is really, really odd. You're trying to attack a 'bogus semantic argument' with a completely made up heiracy with no genuine evidence behind it.
The first two items on this this are pointless and irrelvant, here only to try to get people to agree with you by listing obvious data. The last three are totally undocumented and could geninuenly appear in any order, especially given the way BGA tries to push you into arena games. Would geninuely love to find some data to see how many arena games vs simple games vs games with friends are played for a variety of games across the site.

BGG people who don't come to BGA may actually be super competitive, seeking out physical tourment team or local board game groups simply because they feel the standard on BGA or other online platforms is wildly contaminated by newbies.

BGG engaged people, enough to actually go to the polls sections is a super small subset of the site users whatever 'participating' means, there is no data to make those people either more or less informed than 'people who play wingspan' on a free website.

Even if we took this heirachy to be valid, you've missed the obvious one above it, one that culls down the numbers of people to "more expert" based on how much the play Wingspan on BGA.

Honestly telling others to go spam games in order to become "Guru" in order to replace you and make decisions about arena format, just speaks of tone-deaf the current "Gurus" are towards the issues raised. You don't see as much threads and posts on the forum asking for a 3 player format while the 2 player format has been running for so long. Back then, the wood duck ban was heard and discussed and that was a good show by the Gurus. This current discussion so far isn't.

And adding on the point that your account has only played 1 single arena game this season, and daring to put a Wingspan Gurus signature, speaks volumes on how big this joke is.

How is the system allowing such "Gurus" to decide arena formats? Something more suspicious seems to be going on here. Don't counter and sweep this off by saying it's a conspiracy theory. Tell me why does a player who only played once this season can decide how the next season should be played?

You're going to need to tag people if you want specific people to reply. But the obvious answer is I don't get to decide, I'm not a guru. My 15 games a season are not enough.

I just tend to come into these threads because they generally attract people who agree with the premise of the thread. And without some pushback there's an assumption that everyone must agree with the thread. A lot of people won't argue just for a quiet life.

That -BGA Wingspan gurus at the bottom isn't a signature. It's the missing list item mentioned in the paragraph above.

Quoting who you're talking to is a good idea to minimize confusion. Not sure what playing 1 Arena game has to do with anything, for obvious reasons we would not the Arena game count to decide who is a guru or not.

Also, what on earth is a "Wingspan Gurus signature"? That doesn't even sound like a real thing, lol.
