That's a nice list of opinions that you are presenting as fact.

The timers are clearly displayed. Are you really saying that players cannot read the numbers indicating what the timers are? Or see their game screen showing the timer?

Here are some tips for new players:

1) Use the slowest time setting
2) play turn-based.
3) Play friendly mode.

You speak as though there are no options available to avoid being in this situation.

Should BGA add an audible/visible warning for an impending game abandon? Sure. I have no objection. Have it make a loud ding, with the same banner pop-up that appears when the 20-second expulsion warning is triggered: "WARNING! You have 20 seconds to make a move, or else this game will be abandoned."

By the way, just because I do not agree with you does not mean I do not understand what you are saying.

No they don't see the timer easily when they play on their phone or mobile devices. So fact. You don't understand your user base. Not surprised. And i hope you are not the one who designed all this confirmations especially for mars u draws. It's so bad, clearly doesn't understand the majority users.

Your solution is to force users to an edgy game setup that they don't want to play, rather than simply admitting and fix a design flaw. And think a warning sign is not a joke solution, wow just wow, Fantastico.

"My" user base? I do not have a "user base". I am not a BGA employee.

And your insults to the implementation of Terraforming Mars are disgusting. The developer is very talented, and has done a tremendous job. She has worked tirelessly to make the game function properly and to implement numerous interface improvements requested by players. Or, I suppose you think that other train-wreck version is better? The one where they never implement any UI improvements, and break a few dozen new cards every time they release some sort of patch or update?

The Mars University confirmations were one of the most highly-demanded changes here. Likewise the Pluto confirmations.

If the timers are not easily visible when playing on a tablet or timer, that's an issue to be raised with BGA support. I've never had any trouble seeing the timers, but I also do not multi-task while playing real time games, while I suspect that most people complaining about these "issues" probably do.

Almost everything you are angrily ranting about has zero to do with Terraforming Mars. These are BGA site-wide "issues".

If you have issues with the confirmations in terraforming Mars, why don't you go yell angrily at the dozens of people who requested these? Because, guess what? We only implement UI improvements that are highly requested.

Somebody who has been on this site less than 6 days should probably refrain from telling somebody who has been here 6 years that they don’t understand how things here work.

I don't know what the issue is here. If you and I agree to some terms and game rules, and you break them, you can't then argue whenever I decide the game is no longer what I signed up for and decide to abandon the game. You get no vote on this as you have broken our agreement. Whatever my reason is for abandoning the game, it is perfectly valid to do and I would argue that some other platforms are even more strict than this one (for example, immediately expelling you from the game, giving the victory to the other player). Time management is as important as any other part of the game, and if that is a place where you are lacking, you need to get better at it.

If you don't want this to happen to you, here are some solutions
- Select longer time controls, even daily turn-based games, if you feel like you need more time for specific moves
- Don't go over your alloted time, as this is an unfair advantage you have and your opponent doesn't
- Improve at your desired time control, make decisions quicker
- Only play with people you agree some other rules with, they need to accept you might end up breaking them and therefore will not abandon the game

***, that was pretty weak of seeing you not finishing a game against ***and ***, both are top and seasoned competitor in arena. Who are definitely not slow. You caught both of them with this exploit and have done so in the past against newer players as well long before I made this thread. Never on a winning position somehow ummm that's interesting. Just don't try to make it sounds legit at the same time, ok buddy?

I am happy that I brought this dirty tactic to light, so players like you would stop griefing the real players who just want to compete.

EXPOSED.

You, somebody who has been on this site 6 days, seem to think this is somehow some sort of gotcha. So let’s take a dive into the facts.

In their game against Ghaleon, Ghaleon never even made their initial card selection. It was a fast-paced game so the clock started with 87 seconds. Emgizy waited over a minute and a half longer than they needed to have, and abandoned the game at approximately 3m07s after it started. They could have hit Ghaleon with a rep hit and Elo loss, but chose not to. So freaking what? Not a gotcha.

In their game against Orang3p33l, the game lasted 12 minutes (compare to the more typical runtime of 40ish minutes that a full game takes), and Orang3p33l ran out of time. I don’t know why you think they are “definitely not slow”, because this is the very definition of being slow. They ran out of time. Less than ⅓ of the way through a game. And the score was tied at 27, so it’s not like Emgizy was using this to get out of a losing position.

In neither of these cases did anybody actually get hurt, and I see good-faith efforts on Emgizy’s part to play the game, but the worst you can say is they are a little impatient of slow players and would rather move on than cool their heels waiting and waiting and waiting for a turn to happen. But not impatient enough to actually impose penalties on the slow players, just let everybody walk away. That’s the opposite of griefing.

I think maybe you should cool your heels and take a little time to familiarize yourself with this place and how things are expected to work. 6 days is not enough time for you to get any clue, evidently.

That's what they do, they run scared because they know they can't hang since it's arena they can't control and run from matching up with strong players. The one who did the trick to me did the same thing and booted me during initial card selection(1st game). The initial card selection is pivotal and requires more time, people run into red all the time bc they thought they have more time, and it's common courtesy not expel player during this time. But what griefers do? They instant boot out of the game, like you said shortly after the game starts or the first chance they got.

You don't understand the true winning position between the griefer and **** had shown in that game that's on you, do you even play terraformingmars?
