And in tournaments it's especially egregious because I've heard that if a person quits or is kicked, then it determines winners based on length of time of your BGA membership, which is ridiculous. So in a 4 person game where 2 people will move on, if I'm a remaining player I will usually be the newest to BGA and would get penalized even if at that point I'm way ahead in the game.

It should be possible. In Heat (for about a year now) and Formula D (for the last four weeks or so), quitters no longer end and ruin the game for the remainers. It should be possible to bring that to poker.
