One thing generally that I think should be looked at is the prominence of tournaments on game pages. Currently, they are way too hidden away, with most tournaments several clicks away. Tournaments imo should be one of the most prominent things on the page, as they should be one of the most popular ways to play, so it doesn't make too much sense to hide them away.
The other issue is I know some people called for change to the old system of what was displayed on the game page, because it led to new, smaller tournaments being hidden away, but I must say I don't like what it's changed to at all. There's a few issues:
#1 It displays tournaments I can't even register for. I actually want to be able to see these tournaments generally that I don't meet the requirements for, because it's interesting and allows me to keep tabs on what's going on (it's also useful for new creators to see what other people are creating), but it seems quite clearly silly if 2 of the 3 tournaments displayed are tournaments I don't meet the requirements for.
#2 Where it now purely just goes off date, it can often not really give a great reflection of tournaments. You will get things like tournaments of a few players displayed, or tournaments which people are actively avoiding because they're obviously not going to work because the settings are ridiculous. The problem then is 2-fold, firstly you are hiding the better tournaments away from players, secondly it will encourage players to sign up to such tournaments who don't know better, and then inevitably be unhappy when it falls apart. This is bad for the tournament scene overall, because if people's impressions of tournaments are they once played a tournament with a ridiculous clock that was never going to work, they will leave with a bad impression of tournaments and reluctance to play again. There needs to be some kind of hotness display on the home page of tournaments, of what people are actually signing up for, display what the player base clearly think are the best tournaments somewhere, even if it's in addition to upcoming.
