I assume I can post this given I'm not calling out the players (it's not their fault), but I will just demonstrate very quickly that solo clearly qualifies you for gurus.Ceaseless wrote: ↑10 April 2026, 00:37 A pinned FAQ saying "this is how it works" is evidence it worked that way. Actually, it's even evidence that it still does, though if you can pull up evidence of who the gurus are and show they have fewer games than people that aren't for a given timeframe, then that would be stronger evidence to the contrary. Trying to pull up who the gurus were for every past season and make that comparison in the hopes of showing that the FAQ was always wrong seems too much though. The fact is right now no one has provided evidence that the FAQ has always been wrong. (No one has even provided evidence it's currently wrong, I'm just assuming the people claiming it's been like this are correct and haven't missed something). While we're probably in a decent enough position to get the current position confirmed one way or the other, we're not in a good spot to try and look into the far past. This is a question for BGA staff, or whoever has those sorts of details.
All of these are in Heat gurus:
https://boardgamearena.com/player?id=85638643 - 0 ranked games ever
https://boardgamearena.com/player?id=85111314 - 0 ranked games ever
https://boardgamearena.com/player?id=88170149 - 11 ranked games ever
https://boardgamearena.com/player?id=11969681 - 192 ranked games ever, but none in 2 years
https://boardgamearena.com/player?id=83906219 - 15 ranked games ever
And if you think that's me having to dig deep, it isn't, I literally just clicked on profiles from the top 10 players listed, that's my point, a good portion of Heat gurus are players who play exclusively or near exclusively solo I would assume any game with solo has this same issue. I mean I actually think my 30% estimation might be an under estimate of just how many of the Heat gurus are like this, it actually seems like it might be closer to 50%.
And that's without me even counting the accounts that have played like 60-80 games ever, and have somehow qualified for gurus, which seems very unlikely to me they would have ever met the criteria listed in the FAQ.
