"Volunteer Projects?"

In the game options in the "play now" view, one of them says "I am okay/prefer not to/never want to" etc play with "volunteer projects," and gives choices for 1, 2, 3 or 4 projects. I don't see this mentioned in the rules. Whatzzits means?

They are in the rules. They add challenges to the game to make it harder.

Are there plans to add these volunteer projects to more than just solo mode?

I wouldn't consider it a deviation from the rulebook. The rulebook specifically states that Volunteer Projects can be used at any player count:

Volunteer Projects can be added to a game of Parks at any player count! Want to spice up a multi-player game? Give them a go!

Good rules citation. Thank you for correcting me. The volunteer cards are explained in the solo portion of the rules, but do include the note you cited.

I just looked over the official suggestions to see if I had also erroneously closed one for the same reason. Nope. Turns out the suggestion was filed and left open for votes for five months.

After five months, it hadn't received even a single vote, so we closed it and continue to focus our limited time making other improvements and fixes across the games we volunteer to maintain.
