Roasted peppers was my first thought, but maybe the issue is the art on the card just looks so fake. Your picture looks real, delicious, tasty, you can see the evidence they are actually real roasted peppers. The art on the card just looks ... terrible, for lack of a better word. It looks very fake, the char lines look painted on, nothing to indicate those actually came out of an oven or a grill.
My picture is a photo, the card is obviously someone's artwork. The char lines are in fact painted on. I'll give you that the card isn't the best artwork, and yes it could be better, but for me, it was recognisable. The complaint was it was a "mystery" vegetable. I knew exactly what it was (and apparently so did you, and lefalaf).
I've seen lots of subpar artwork on cards well before the advent of AI. I'm not saying the art is amazing here, but that doesn't automatically mean it's AI. I can't speak for what else is in that game as I haven't played it and the images on BGG don't show a lot (although they're all recognisable), but I haven't seen anything that's obvious AI (and I'm unclear why lefalaf wouldn't choose the most obvious example, rather than one that's just not great quality, but has no other obvious characteristics).
Also bear in mind, if you happen to be wrong, you are talking about a person's artwork, and you're being quite harsh. I mean, you can say what you like, but not all game publishers can afford to hire top tier artists, and there is something to be said for less experienced artists to get their turn too.
