Could be something weird with the company. Who knows?

I started wondering if they weren't willing or able to pay appropriately and so the artist phoned it in, but then why not just refuse the commission so your name isn't tied to it. So I dismissed that train of thought as unlikely, but I suppose not impossible. Or maybe they didn't care. No way to know what's in their mind or what happened behind the scenes.

Speaking of the character cards, I am now rethinking my belief they were all human drawn. They are otherwise good so far, nothing screamed out to me and I didn't look too deeply as a result, but I just encountered this hand with 6 fingers (or poor shading adding a finger). Maybe it's just an error, but would a human artist make such an error and not correct it before final?

On the box art, she has 5 fingers, but the headband is purple instead, and the black headband on the card just stops abruptly above the ear at a right angle, nose is pointy on card, rounded on box art. It got the mouth to match though. Any one difference might just be an error, but with multiple differences I'm second guessing my thinking that the character cards were human. At least this one is suspect. Or they just rushed through things due to low pay or whatever.

Definitely six fingers there. And what is that weird beige [something' between the thumb and index finger?

I missed that. They forgot to lay in the background there.

The A.I. "art" using food are probably the ones that bother me the most, because they look so obviously fake and unappealing, that it's just gross. And the sad thing is, so many restaurants are using it nowadays. Like, what a way to drive customers out by NOT showing your actual food, but uncanny valley garbage.

So if my comment was exactly pointed toward board games exactly, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more board games based on food start to do that.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how you get six fingers out of that drawing.

Frankly I am inclined to believe that if they say it's not AI then it's not AI until there is actual proof. Vibes is not proof. Not liking the style is not proof. Not all humans are good at drawing. Saying 'a human would never etc.' is not proof. The company might well have asked the artist for a particular style. I have seen nothing in this thread that I would say qualified as proof.

It's extremely damaging and hurtful if you all are sitting there accusing an actual human of being AI. It reminds me strongly of refusing to believe that a muscular woman could possibly be a woman.

I just looked again and saw 5. Then, I looked again and saw 6. It's an optical illusion.

The light shading of the left and top of the palm give the appearance of a thumb-like finger perpendicular to the other fingers and parallel to the actual thumb.

Looking for the wrong number of fingers is AI Hunting 101, so if you're already motivated to believe it's AI, it's easy to fall for the illusion Frank pointed out.

That's something we definitely agree on. There's a piece of background colored brown instead of red between hand and neck, which could be mistaken as a finger at first sight, but if you stop to count, there's only 5... unless people are referring to her left hand.

The shading on the palm of her right hand makes it look like a second thumb at first glance.
