Just to clarify, that's based on mathematical probabilities, not just conventions. It is like stating that you have a 50% chance of rolling a 4, 5, or 6 on a six-sided die. So even people playing The Gang and not on BGA are using that math as a starting point.

IMO this is fine as a starting point, but if 2 players are taking the 6 chip back and forth, and you take 5 I will assume you have an ace at a minimum, because the context of the 6 chip back and forth has subsequently raised the bar for the 5 chip.

I'm not a fan of this because it would require players to look at the order people took chips in, and not everyone pays full attention to the game all the time, so if people look at the logs they might have to consider a lot of options. If you agree that your first white chip never depends on other players' chips, you don't have that problem.

Does this violate the rules?

No.

The Gang is supposed to be played simultaneously, which means that all people grab their first chip at the same time. In reality this doesnt happen because of lag, afk, longer loading time etc. Since we try to reproduce a game played IRL, I always assume that the first chip taken is simultaneously. Means, if i played with my friend, i would grab 5 with K2 and then realize that two players fight for 6. So i put 5 back and take 4.

To make this example more obvious: My internet connection is terrible when I am at the kitchen. The loading time is long so that the first moves are played already. The played moves are integrated in the loading time which prolongs the loading time even further. By the time the game is loaded all people have their chips already.

Does that mean that I am not allowed to send the info I could send from the bathroom, where the game is immediately loaded and the 5 grab from start possible?
If I missed the start, do I even know if there was a fight for 6?

Taking the 5 there is totally legal and not violating the rules just because you are lagging.

You play with 3 cards on the table, you are 1 turn (nobody showed flush's strength) and there is 3 spades on the table. River come and it's a forth spade. You have the 2 of spades. So you pick 6 once to show strength/show you hit flush, and then pick 4.

I dont like that behaviour, but I think there is a simple fix to it.

Solution within the rules: You pick 6 and consequently downgrade to everybody else showing flush strength.
It is not forbidden to believe that you are the sole flush and therefore 6. You might end up being 6 and therefore picking 6 is legal.

If there was a flush shown on turn already, I assume taking 5 is correct, as you are always lower as that flush that exists already.

IDK if it is because I'm playing more, but this seems to be more and more of a problem. I recently played a game where a player took the following chips before going to the showdown (with fingerprint scan): 5-4-5-4-5. They were telling us they have a full house. This was not negotiating; they were signaling something. I've seen players take the top chip 3 times before moving to the showdown to indicate 3 of a kind, etc.

The rules are clear that the person whose cards are being guessed for fingerprint scan and retina scan can't give any hints. However, people are interpreting that as "don't say anything" and think that it is okay to communicate with signals with their chips. These are high-ranking players and when you bring it up, they argue with you.

Fingerprint and Retina Scans are supposed to be more difficult ... that's why they are challenge cards. Giving signals and codes with your chips is still giving hints imo. Not sure anything can be done, but it is frustrating.
