Just FYI this was a pop-up ad, not a banner. I've had this preference set (banners disabled) for quite a while and still got the ad.

I am getting the same ad also. Disgusting. As a former gambler. This is why this site is so good. NO MONEY involved. Relax and play. I get asked all the time. Is there any money to be won in your tournaments. , I say no. End of bga conversation. Why does everything have to be about money. Bga stooped way to low to make some money. Get that poop off my screen when I login.

Yes, if this is not a mistake I will definitely not be renewing.
Calm down. My guess is it is probably a new issue or change with the ad network and maybe they can reconfigure it or tell the ad network to fix it. I've always gotten the impression that they don't want to be associated with gambling, so they probably dislike this happening as much as you.

They may not be aware that it is happening yet so you can let them know, politely, at support@boardgamearena.com.

I have a premium account with that banner option disabled, and I never normally see popup ads like this.

It was so incredibly odd I wondered if it was related to the recent PHP security update news.

This does not seem like a BGA-sanctioned advertisement. I assume that a malicious popup made its way in through the ad network somehow.

I'm getting this too. I did a full reinstall. Cleared cache, and data. Deleted app. Reinstalled the app, and boom, the ad was back. I'm furious. This will be a cancellation asap if not fixed.

This is very disappointing. It's very overstimulating and overwhelming being bombarded by ads and popups. This would make me stop using bga, if it continues.

It looks even more like a malicious ad because trying to close it with the X still seems to send me to the gambling site.

Kuolema wrote: ↑25 October 2026, 23:17 As the title says, I opened up BGA and got a pop-up advertising "400 free spins" or something. I stared at it for a few moments because it didn't have any outside branding on it and it appeared to be part of the BGA UI, not a seperate pop-up window or obvious ad. Plus I use an ad-blocker so I didn't really think it was an advertisement.

Certainly "400 free spins" seemed like a perplexing thing to see coming from BGA, but I clicked on it to see if that would clarify things and was then of course taken to some gambling site.

Reloaded the site and got the same pop up.

What's going on BGA?
Yep, I’m continually getting that same ad over and over tonight. Very annoying.

Just echoing the statement that I don’t intend to remain a premium member if pop-up ads are indeed sanctioned and not removed.

Yeah, I got the same pop up. This sucks. If anyone in the comments knows how to disable this, let me know and spread the word. BGA should know better than to advertise a sketchy gambling site.
