Why was the racial justice thread locked?

More to the point. BGA has these games on licence from their publisher. I doubt that the publisher would be very happy if a Wiki explaining how their game was toxic and racist appeared alongside the game description / rules. The likelihood is that permission to host the game would be removed right away.

The given reason for locking the other thread was BGA's seeming disapproval of discussing such thing here and even invited us to discuss it elsewhere.
You are in effect perpetuating the very thing that the last thread was locked for.

Also, it should not be political to be concerned with the treatment of people. If the thread had not been locked, I would go on to say that we need to look at it through an inter-cultural lends. Unfortunately not everyone has had exposure to education in these topics and may genuinely not know better, so I think education is very important.

My mistake for giving off that intention! I completely agree with you that I should have left that part out (I believe I did say "I digress"). To provide a place for nice people to play nice games with other nice people, you have to consider the perspectives of all your users. I am a privileged white lady. If I were native american and saw a game that, first, used the phrase "Indian", and then showed the settlers and Native Americans as "friends" where the Native Americans were eager to help the settlers colonize the land?!? I would feel ignored, disrespected and unseen as a person. How does that fit into your goal of "nice"? How many people are you willing to ostracize and turn away from your platform because of these hurtful themes?

Do you think all the Native Americans would feel and react the way you think you would feel and react?
