Is it normal to win an arena game, yet not to get a single arena point?

You can, however, restrict your possible opponents to leagues close to your one. Click the cogwheel next to the game icon in the lobby, -> Extended Options -> Opponent level.

I think you are the 251364th person to raise this question. Why a restrcted opponent level is not the default for 2p games or why the setting is hidden so deeply in the interface? These are question far beyond human comprehension and they remain open riddles of the human race.

Since you mention the possibility of restricting the level of possible opponents, do you have any idea what level +/-1 or +/-2 means once you play in elite. Is is ELO related or all elite players are considered being the 'same' level, and therefore these settings only prevent you from playing non-elite opponents?

Precisely. EAS does have nothing to do with that setting, it excludes other leagues only.

Click the cogwheel next to the game icon in the Arena lobby. Cogwheel is the answer to 80% of Arena questions..

That's how long is left of the arena 'season', after which things will reset and you can start trying to climb the leagues again.

I don't think I saw an answer to my question about achievements so I might re-ask! Are there limits on which games will give out achievements / xp for placing high in the arena? I notice that getting in the top 5/10/20 etc doesn't seem to count for all games, particularly those which don't have many people getting to elite rank - but does anyone know what the actual rules are around this?

Why is the Arena mode with single symbol only?
Such version is pure luck only to learn the game.
Double symbols provide deep thougth challange.
Can we switch Arena to double-symbols please?
