For 'Yokai' and 'The crew' which are two cooperative games:

They are not visible in that page: https://boardgamearena.com/community
But they are present on this one: https://boardgamearena.com/gamegurus
If I click on them, I obtain 'Unexpected error: BGA service error (boardgamearena.com 06/07 21:02:49)' ; and Guru Discussions is searching undefinitely.

(I got access to a third not coop game too. That could be important)

Surely if the gurus are based on who is playing arena mode, and they make the decisions about settings, then nothing will ever change. For example I played a lot of Welcome To last season but do not care for the expansion so am unlikely to do so this season. Those who will play it (and become gurus) will be players who like the expansion, and so will want to keep the expansion in...

I agree with the concern that for some games, those who become gurus will be more likely to enjoy it in the current setup.
I have a few games i would play in arena mode if they were set up with different options, but don’t enjoy them enough with the current options to play in arena mode very often.

To add to that, the wiki mentions there could be rotating setups (one season with option A, next with B, and always switching between the 2(or 3 or 4) setups. It doesn’t sound like this has been done for any games, but really should be.

I was lucky enough to be nominated as a guru for 7 Wonders.

I do play a lot of arena, but not as much as I used too. Looking at other player nominated (around 100 or exactly 100) I don't see many active arena players - I think it was some other criterium.

Is the goal of each arena season to have the settings be the same across all games?

For example, last season in Oh Hell a new developer created new options for the game. Some users had personal preferences set that would change the format of the arena games. It was really inconsistent to play, and I think it fractured the community.

Is there a Thurn and Taxis gurus group? I am current champion and past season runner up, but one does not appear in my group listings.
