Another thing I do, having seen people lose their minds in the forums over "gg," is use the pre-scripted "Thanks for the game" chat option because it gets translated into everyone's preferred language. I'm hoping that avoids any connotation that might get lost in translation and maybe it isn't taken as a value judgment of whether the game was "good." That doesn't help with person type 4 though. They are pretty much just looking for a reason to be in a bad mood about their loss.

But I still only do that if there has been previous friendly banter in the chat. If I say "good luck and have fun" at the beginning (by "say" I mean use the pre-scripted chat option) and get zilch in response, I don't say anything after a game.
