We are happy to introduce today Machiavelli, a classic Italian card game. This game requires several decks of 52 standard playing cards. The goal is to be the first player to play all the cards in his hand by placing combination of cards on the table. Valid combination are:
_ sequences of 3 or more cards from the same color (ex: 8♥, 9♥, 10♥, V♥)
_ 3 or 4 cards with the same value, but with different color (ex: 7♥ 7♦ 7♠).
If you don't manage to play any card from your hand at your turn, you must draw a card.
The most interesting rule of this game is the following: you can take back any group of cards from the table in your hand, in order to reorganize cards in a different manner, and then to play more cards on the table. However, be careful when you do this: all cards you take back from the table must be placed again on the table at the end of your turn - otherwise you get a penalty.
To win, you have to imagine interesting cards reconfiguration, and this require a lot of mental gymnastics: it happens quite often that you have to move 20 or more cards in order to play only one from your hand
Machiavelli has been developed by Emanuele Sicchiero using BGA Studio: a big "thank you" to him for this wonderful work!
Enjoy!
