Dear Crew-Players!
I consider myself a well-experienced crew-player, but not on a pro-level. I like the game and enjoy it a lot, because I think the combination of a trick-taking game with a cooperative game is quite unique. However, there is an issue here on bga, that annoys me a lot and I'd like to share it with you.
Most of the players I encounter are even more skilled than i am. Every once in a while someone makes a simple mistake. It can be me, it can be another player. With simple mistakes i mean: Fogetting to comm a problem, picking the wrong card, getting the order confused, ... things like that. It happens to everyone. I think, it is in the nature of the game. You apologize, shuffle the cards and start over, no big deal. But here on bga, if you make a mistake, you immediately get hate from the other players and on the second occasion they tell you, that they don't want to play like this, implying that you are an idiot, and run.
I find that rude and not enjoyable at all. I don't make the same experiences in other games.
How do you think about it? Have you experienced the same thing? Please let me know.
BTW: When The Crew was rather new, there were a lot of players who were very generous with advice and explained specific tactics: Like "If you don't comm, that means you don't have a problem". Where have they gone?
Cheers!
