Re: Game starts with wing number of players

Yes, on occasion, this happens to me. Please make a bug report and post the link here so we can report future instances.

Re: Pronunciation

Q-birds.

I always took it to be like Queue-Birds since a queue is a line. Maybe it’s meant to be a combination of queue and cube.

Strategy Session (ie another stats post)

There’s a stat called “Flocks not completed by choice.” The stat refers to when you have the option of sending home a flock as the last action in a turn and you choose not to, keeping the set of birds in your hand instead. Do yourself a favor and check out this stat on your player profile of Cubirds...

Re: Multiple Accounts: BGA Needs to Get On the Same Page....With Itself

It’s unethical to have more than one account, period. If some users have a dummy account to create tutorials, there should be a way to disable it from normal ELO-accruing game functions and flag it for all to see. If the top 10 (or 100 or 1000) spots were all filled by the same person, that would de...

Cubirds Stats

Reposting from another thread: ———————————————————- I’d be interested to know: percentage of first-player wins vs second-player wins globally and individually More generally, the stats could be tightened up. More generally, the stats could be tightened up. Anyone else glance at these? It’s super impressive that stats are so easily available, so kudos to the developers for that.

Re: Syggestion: winning 2 out of 3

Just copy over all the backgammon doubling cube rules. Series could be best of 3, best of 5, whatever. Establish a couple of skunk and double skunk thresholds. It's a great idea just by itself (2 of 3), but might as well add some variability, especially if some of the code is already written.

Re: Roll and Move Games?

Ludo, Sorry!, Parcheesi, Wahoo, etc. are all part of a family of games whose rules can be traced back to Pachisi, from ancient India. All great games. Backgammon is like Ludo except instead of going the same direction, you and your opponent are going against each other's direction. Much more strateg...

Re: Stratego

I've been addicted to VOLTO, a quicker version of Stratego, which is available on BGA.

Re: Great school lunch break games?

Most games are pretty awesome for youth engagement. However, so much depends on the gaming tastes of your particular group when you're asking for specifics. I would just ask each person what their top three favorite games are and try to figure out what they'd like to try next. In my experience, tast...
