Re: Arena champion

Why are you saying people are just using red thumbs and not actually reporting the issue to BGA for them to take actual action? Someone else said that "All you can do is RT". I don't know what reports people have sent. But I do know that a few seasons ago. The same thing was going on. I s...

Re: Arena champion

You can "collect" evidence in the form of suspicious game activity. And report the offending accounts. Bga moderators won't notice these things by themself. And actual Action obviously has a high bar for evidence before something can be done. If nobody bothers to put in the work. Nothing c...

Re: Chatting

I'm sure this must happen on occasion. I've not noticed this being an issue much in Arena at least.

But as suspicious as that seems. Don't forget that players simply making terribly risky nil bids, is much more common than players cheating.

And every so often those risks do happen to succeed.

Arena settings are decided each season by the game gurus. A random selection of the most active players for that game the past season.

If you play enough, you can get a chance to vote.

Re: What can you say during a game?

Hi, so from the rules: An important rule of The Gang is that you are not allowed to freely discuss the cards in your hand. You are not allowed to show, say, or hint which cards you have in your hand to the other players. Additionally, if you know something about another player’s hand only because y...

Re: 'High card promesse' vs better distribution of hands

Hi, Where would you put the hands A4/A3/A2/JT initially at 6 players preflop, and where would you put the hands QJ/QT at 5 players preflop? Please answer, then read the second post, thanks :) Ace-low I would start by taking the highest (6) token. But would not fight for it if taken away. If 6 is al...

Re: Proposal for preventing abuse of forfeit option

Because my intention seems to be a unclear for some people. Firstly you can still forfeit gammons and backgammons if you simply want to continue and end the game early. And, as soon as you've taken your first pawn off the board, and gammon is impossible. You can still forfeit a single point to end e...

Re: Proposal for preventing abuse of forfeit option

I used to agree with you; but at the end of the day; we don't need to play to the 'bitter end' when it's going to be a loss anyway. The ELO points all work out the same way whether you 'forfeited' or 'lost'. I have refused a forfeit before because I was hoping I'd get a gammon. I put that in the ch...

Re: Proposal for preventing abuse of forfeit option

https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=226388 Forfeiting seems like it's abused more than genuinely used. Not allowing single point forfeits before bearing off would no longer make abuse possible Vote for my suggestion if you agree Best option would be to allow only one forfeit offer per move. A player ...
