The designer doesn't know jack comparing to the top players, let's get that out of the way. TM is trash for 4p, the skill ceiling is highest in 2p, it's not even close, you are comparing a swim pool to the ocean on that. The cards are not properly balanced, many corrections have been made, but that's all I am going to say on thatnanospy wrote: ↑09 May 2024, 16:09 Admittedly 2p is the most competitively suitable for a ranking ladder. But I actually think TMars is a better game at 3p or 4p (while still very good at 2p of course). The cards were balanced for 3-4p, for example, as stated by the designer.
And besides that, I have played many thousands of games of chess, go, and backgammon, which has sated my 2p thirst. Because of this I prefer 3+ for most hobby games. 2p is better than no p, just usually not my first choice.
Same with chess and go, you can play thousands of games, but have you played thousands of days with the best players in the world? No? Then, you haven't really played the game, in fact you don't know anything about the game, the ocean is much deeper than the pond.
