And besides that, I have played many thousands of games of chess, go, and backgammon, which has sated my 2p thirst. Because of this I prefer 3+ for most hobby games. 2p is better than no p, just usually not my first choice.
The designer doesn't know jack comparing to the top players, let's get that out of the way. TM is trash for 4p, the skill ceiling is highest in 2p, it's not even close, you are comparing a swim pool to the ocean on that. The cards are not properly balanced, many corrections have been made, but that's all I am going to say on that :? I heard something about re or leagu or whatever...

Same with chess and go, you can play thousands of games, but have you played thousands of days with the best players in the world? No? Then, you haven't really played the game, in fact you don't know anything about the game, the ocean is much deeper than the pond.

Well, if the highest skill ceiling is what matters the most to you, perhaps you should try playing go. I assure you it has a much higher skill ceiling than TMars.

Tharsis/Eco are 95%/90% autowin :-)
No way, I can take top ranked Tharsis/Eco with even Inventrix, it took a while lost about 100 arena points while experimenting, but I figured it out. It's even easier, if all three players are highly ranked. I think the different Corps in none corps era are much more balanced comparing to the corp era.

All the bombastic boasts from other folks aside... Tharsis and Ecoline are very beatable (and I find Ecoline is _much_ stronger than Tharsis). I'm nowhere near the top ranks of players and I've beaten both (with, you know, probably average players playing them). I beat the OP corp / auto win corp. Go me. I want a cookie / tropy. Ha. Best wishes everyone.

It's much more costly to make a mistake than corp era, which makes the current arena setting much more intense. It's good, you guys should check some of the games out, I am having a blast. I feel like games are decided with less luck than corp era.
I second this. It's a much more tight resource management game than the cards-dumping-fest that everyone has got used to.

Wow. That's too huge an ego boost coming from playing a game.

100% if you are older than 6, go to any chess club or tournament and experience the wonders of competitive gaming.

The same for me. By the way so many players are playing together with different IP and trying to push up one of the 2, or leaving the game if it's not working as they wish... Of course, a fair Arena cannot be only 2 players...

I think trying to argue whether 2p, 3p or 4p is 'more competitive' is a rather pointless exercise in opinions. I have my own opinions (I prefer 2p) but arguing about which is better is like arguing... which flavor of ice cream is better... imo.

Not true. 2p is an ocean away better than 3p; 4p and 5p doesn't even belong in the same planet with 3p. They are pure garbage and waste of time, that's why you will never see the real top players competing in the world series, because the format is a joke.

Something concrete about my points? Just the draft aspect alone is worlds apart comparing 2/3P to 4/5P. In 2/3P you will get a card or two back during draft, while in 4/5P you will never see any part of your draft pack back, translating to far less draft manipulation and MORE IMPORTANTLY, getting valuable insight on your opponent(s), which is like the most important part of a deck building game, b/c TM is a deck building game, cards are like super duper important.

I can go on for days, but that's just a quick knowledge drop.
