It makes sense to make an elite tournament with a rating of 500 and above.

I've participated in tournaments before with a lot of intermediate and above riders and had a lot of fun, so I think this will be another exciting event, but I don't think there will be many participants at expert level or above.
If the site administration organizes a tournament with a high status and a high prize, then many may want to participate.
Such a competition is more difficult to organize than just an elite tournament.
This might be true from a competitive point of view... However today almost a half of the +400'000 matches registered on BGA have been played with the 4 stones variation, so if we, as a community want to expand our playerbase, we just have to create events and tournaments to catch people's attention.Roua wrote: ↑07 May 2024, 14:23jp1052kyo wrote: ↑07 May 2024, 12:24 There are still some tournaments being held today with participants of different skill levels. Most of them are 4-stone tournaments, with beginners and a few intermediate players. I understand that a tournament with beginners, intermediates and advanced players all mixed together is not very interesting for people of any level.
A tournament with 4 stones is a road to nowhere, you can’t learn to play Kalakh-4, this is a defective version of Kalakh. You need to study on Kalakh-6.
It is easy to go from Kalakh 6 to Kalakh 4, but from Kalakh 4 to Kalakh 6 it is extremely difficult. But the game itself in Kalah 4 is poor, everything depends on the first move.il donatore di ELO wrote: ↑12 June 2024, 20:22This might be true from a competitive point of view... For new players kalah-5 or 6 can be hard to understand and as many other abstract games, it's either love or hate since the first matches, so it's important to make their experience as enjoyable as possible. In order to do this it might be a good idea to make them understand the basic game mechanics in a simpler version of the game (kalah-4 or even 3) just to make sure that in the first real games, with 5 or 6 stones at least they will know what are they doing
