If you don't do the pushback against the cases where AI might be trying to pass itself as human, you are enabling a future where AI will live among us and it will be hard to distinguish who is AI and who is human.
I see it the other way around:
If you DO the pushback, you'll be encouraging AI to get better and so we'll be closer to that future.
If you DON'T do the pushback, AI will stay as crappy as it is and continue to be distinguishable.
In any case, whatever you do, AI will eventually be indistinguishable.
