I don't think it's an optical illusion. A second thumb was clearly intentionally created. This shape didn't just happen by accident.

Are you suggesting it's a flawed method? How commonly do you see human created art where people have six fingers? Especially professionally made art?

That's something we definitely agree on. There's a piece of background colored brown instead of red between hand and neck, which could be mistaken as a finger at first sight, but if you stop to count, there's only 5... unless people are referring to her left hand.
That's her hair a little in the shadow.

I see it the other way around:
If you DO the pushback, you'll be encouraging AI to get better and so we'll be closer to that future.
If you DON'T do the pushback, AI will stay as crappy as it is and continue to be distinguishable.

In any case, whatever you do, AI will eventually be indistinguishable.

This whole thread, analyzing this particular game and this particular artist, when it was neither the topic of this thread nor even AI is hurting the arguments we are trying to make against AI here, not helping.

There are five fingers on that hand. The lighter color between index finger and neck is the blonde hair from behind the shoulder.

It was created by an artist, confirmed by the publisher, and the artist named. Constantly having to disprove people's incorrect analysis of individual cards, including claiming there are six fingers when there are only five, puts all of the burden on disproving a conspiracy theory.

Move on, please. There are actual, provable, known instances of AI that have been mentioned on this very thread and yet pages have been spent dragging this artist for work they've done.

I fell for it, and I had not even formed an opinion yet about whether this was AI Art. Granted, I was responding to a post in which someone else said "six fingers", so maybe that helped by brain see the optical illusion. The optical illusion almost looks intentional, which would (to me) more likely indicate a human drawing rather than AI.

Regardless, hasn't it already been ascertained that this is human art? By an artist named Anna [I forget her last name, I'll re-check page 1 of the thread]?

So, though I do think it's reasonable for people to an to avoid games that use AI art, this specific game does not appear to be one of those games. I would probably avoid the game just because I dislike the art.

As others have noted, this game's art seems different from the artist's usual style, so maybe the game designers requested a specific "feel" to the art. Which makes sense, right? It would be a bit odd for a game designer to tell the artist, "just draw pictures of food; no further instructions. thanks."

Yes, it has been established there are 5 fingers. Did you miss the numerous threads in which people pointed out the optical illusion of the 6th finger?

As for your final sentence: Are you saying an artist's work can never be scrutinized or criticized? I don't care whether this artwork is AI or human generated; I just don't think it's very good. And I would not buy this game. People are allowed to discuss their opinions about the quality of the art on a board game's cards.

I do like this artist's other work. I just do not like her artwork on these cards, which as I said earlier, might be the game designer's fault and not hers. I doubt she would have drawn the cards that way unless requested to do so by the game designer / publisher.

Are you counting right? She has three fingers sticking together, plus one on the right and two on the left. That's six fingers. No one is talking about the darker shade of blonde hair.

What do you mean it has been established? I checked the game's forum and there aren't any threads.

Critique the art and the artist all you like. I have, at no point, defended the art itself. I am only talking about the unsubstantiated accusations of AI, which keep coming up. I do think this thread specifically about games with AI has gotten wildly off topic and focused entirely on one game and one artist.

Your first sentence, though, reiterates exactly the problem. It is established, the optical illusion is pointed out, and yet the response immediately after yours again claims six fingers.

What I mean is, someone noted that the 6th finger is an optical illusion. :)

One that fooled me completely, I instantly saw 6 fingers when I looked at the card. Again though, I was perhaps influenced by someone saying, "She has six fingers."

I STILL see the illusory 6th finger every time I look at it.

No, that's illustrating a different problem. That person will reflexively take positions contrary to fact or reason just for the sake of doing it. Check their post history.
