I am interested in setting up a kind of long term tournament, for instance, running 5 months, months 1 to 4 swiss system. then, month 5, single elimination with the 4 winners from previous 4 months .

Is this something doable?

thanks in advance
you do the normal 4 mounths into the swiss system, then create another one, which will be in invitation, and you invite the final 4

I have been having success with 2-player single elimination Thurn and Taxis tournaments and think that bracket elimination 4-player would work really well. Can we Beta-test the Bracket Elimination format on Thurn and Taxis? If helpful I can admin.

Hello.
I had a little "problem" while playing a tournament. I contacted the administrator of the tournament who told me to post my example here.
The tournament is with the game Nidavellir. The 2 first of a 5 players game are qualified. We finished tied at the 2nd place and there are no tie breaker in this game so I have been eliminated and the other player who was tie with me have been qualified. I wanted to know why him and not me :D
If anyone has an idea...

The tournament: https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=82593
The game: https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=170557110

Thank you!

I have had a similar problem regarding a tie not long ago and searched the forums to try to find an answer to the question of the tiebreaker. As far as i can tell, there is no official statement on the matter. I concluded there were 2 possible options to determine the advancing player - either ELO rating or simply random chance.
ELO did work for my case, but in your game it looks like the advancing player had a lower rating, so it's probably just a dice roll...
An official statement on this matter would be nice.

Hi,

the "Multiplayer Elimination" mode is now in Beta.

We've tried to take in account most of your suggestions, thank you to all the alpha testers here and the great tournaments played :)
